A Mother's Love

The safety of a mothers' womb
Where we float and play in tune;
With every movement, sound, or slumber
She makes until that moment breaks asunder.

The breath of life outside the cozy warmth
Pulls sharply into our bodies.
The awareness that we're no longer hidden
Strikes a panic in our souls.

A cry of separation summons a familiar voice.
Her arms are strong and embracing;
Her tears of happiness are warm and moist.
She coos and soothes the fear we're facing.

So similar is the mothers' comforting protection
To the Heavenly Father's redeeming grace.
She saves us from harm and eases the rejections
Life's journey may force us to face.

A mothers' love is an unconditional endurance.
The Savior's love is much the same.
When we're weak and need comforting reassurance,
This love brings a solace from pain.

But the Lord above made our precious mothers
As an extension of His care.
So when our troubles can be helped by no other
Our loving Holy Comforter is there…
Even to lift up the precious mothers' when they need a share.

There is a Love That Means More Than Love

There is a Love that means more than love.
It has a spirit. He calls your name.
"Come with me my child. I will ease your pain.
The Spirit of Truth will forever remain.
We'll find the secret place of the Lord…the secret place of the Lord."

"Whatever your burdens be.
Come now rely on me.
Close your eyes prayerfully and Love."

There is a Love that means more than love.
It has a son. He calls your name.
"Come to me my child. I will take your sin.
Walk by faith my child and be born again.
We'll find the secret place of the Lord…the secret place of the Lord."

"Whatever your trespass be.
Come now believe in me.
Close your eyes prayerfully and Love."

There is a Love that means more than love.
It has a Father. He calls your name.
"Abide in me my child. I give you the light.
Seek my face my child with spiritual sight.
Come find the secret place of the Lord…the secret place of the Lord."

"Whatever your desires be.
Come now delight in me.
Close your eyes prayerfully and Love."

There is a Love that means more than love.

Christmas means BIRTH

Christmas means the BIRTH of life,
The cry of the Christ child in the chill of the night.
The shadow of God shaking the Earth,
The joyous sounds of the angels mirth.

Christmas means the BIRTH of life,
The hope of salvation in the midst of strife.
The sacrifice of God, His beloved Son;
To die on Calvary, a sinless One.

Christmas means the BIRTH of life,
The assurance of the Holy Spirit's might.
A new BIRTH for all who will believe,
The Savior's blood our sins relieve.

Christmas means the BIRTH of life,
Without His BIRTH, under the star's bright light.
Without His walk in a body of clay,
There could be no joyous resurrection day.

Through the Door

Walking through the door I found myself on a river bank where an old black man was tying flies for fishing.  He never made eye contact with me but I sat down beside him.  He told me that she was young and pure and had never known a man but her belly swelled with life.  The time came upon her in the dark night.  He and his wife watched from the porch of their place above the river.  She screamed in pain and birthed under the moonlight a beautiful young all at once with its placenta following the cord.  The young slipped into the river and she cried for it to return.  After that night she came again and again to the river to wait for the young to return.  She grew into womanhood and married a man.  They had a child.  She would bring the child to the riverbank with her on her faithful waiting visits.  She grew older and her family passed on before her in tragedy.  One day in her sadness she came and knelt by the river crying in sorrow.  She saw a great swirling in the river and the placenta of her lost young surfaced the water.  The young reached up from below and pulled itself upon the placenta.  It seemed to drink in the sadness its mother showed.  The young grabbed a piece of the placenta and pulled it apart from the rest.  The young gave the piece to its mother and again slipped into the river.  She took the piece home and sat in the dark at the kitchen table.  She slowly brought the gift to her lips and ate.  Light filled her being and escaped through the orifices of her body.  Her pain was gone and she joined her family on the other side.
